Hello, my name is Paul Shaw and Welcome to my website. About the Artist, where do I start?
I am a self-taught artist with no “formal” Art Training, so I can’t impress you with the
College
Degrees or anything like that. I did take one Art class in High School
if that counts and the rest is just from practice. I currently just use
“regular” sketch pencils (2H-HB) for all my Drawings and I have
recently began using Watercolor Pencils to add color to my work. I
picked up Pyrography (Wood Burning) around 2000 and have began the journey of Airbrushing. One thing that I like to do with all my Artwork is put my
initials into every piece. This initially started out just as a way to
get the viewer to really look at the detail that was put into the work
itself but now it has become a Tradition. So every piece I do will have
a PS symbol in it somewhere.
I was born in Lexington, Kentucky
and raised in Nicholasville, Kentucky. I grew up with the dream of
becoming a famous Artist and having my art seen around the world. My
first major piece I did was a “panther” wall mural on my bedroom wall.
After high school, with various things going on in my life at the time,
I joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18 in 1988 and it was “without a
doubt” the best thing that I ever did. At that time in my life though,
I just wanted to join, get the “College Money” for Art School/ College
and get out. It sounded real simple at the time. But later and based
off of my duty assignments, it was hard for me to get any type of Art
Schooling due to “traveling” and various other things. (My hat goes off
to the Military personnel “past and present” that have been able to
further their education and get “Degrees” while still serving in the
Armed Services, and especially now days.) Anyways that was the
plan.....Join Military, Get Money for College, Get out after 4 Years.
Of course, things never happen the way they are planned. (Not for me
anyways, that’s “Shaw Luck” and their are to many examples to explain
that here) Note to self ....I hope my Luck changes on this little
adventure I’m calling Eagle Eye Artwork.
Now for what really
happened...My first duty station was Fort Carson, Colorado where in
1990 I meet my beautiful, loving and caring wife Elisa (trying to get
“points” here). But seriously, she has been unbelievably supportive in
everything I have done, even though I aggravate her greatly and call
her a Hillipino (A Filipina or Filipino with a “southern accent”).
Together we have two great and wonderful boys. They are constantly
bouncing off the walls, wrestling and arguing all the time, same as all
brothers do, but she has raised them most of their lives because of all
my traveling in the military and after. I left the Military in 1999 to
work as an “instructor” for the Military. For 5 years after leaving the
Military I traveled 90% out of the year and finally in 2004 was given
the opportunity to “settle” down and finally call someplace home and be
with the family every night. I took it and that is where I am now, with
the Family.
Last but not least, I would like to thank my “travel
family” and all the guys on “The “original” Team” and also thank and
welcome the newer guys. Old guys, train the “new guys” right and
remember “The wolf don’t make the Pack, the Pack makes the Wolf”, it's
up to the team to train them to standard. Then everyone train the
soldiers above and beyond the standard, their lives depend on it. And
“WolfPack”, Guys we were, no are, the Best their was and ever will be.
Last but not least remember, KWITCHA..............
